Dusan is an experienced sourcing and quality specialist with over 15 years’ experience in machinery design, foundry technologies, supplier search, auditing, assessment, supplier quality development, EN ISO9001:2015 consultant and internal auditor. Additionally, in strategic procurement, he has led the definition of casting commodity strategies and participated as an SME for machining strategies.
As foundry technologist and supervisor, he increased the efficiency of an automated robotic line by 30%delivering a strong impact to company profitability and customer satisfaction. Using value stream mapping, layout changes and LEAN principles implementation in a foundry wax pattern shop achieved a 22.5%reduction in headcount and 30% consequent reduction in internal lead-times.
During three years in Edwards Vacuum, Dusan visited over 70+ suppliers in Poland, Germany, Spain, UK, Czech Republic and Slovakia, 25+ audited according EN ISO 9001 and assessed for abilities to be responsible and high performing supplier using in-house supplier assessment tools.
Later, Dusan joined the newly established team of Supplier Quality Engineers and selected suppliers from 5 countries to implement and use APQP, PPAP (including MSA, Gauge R&R, SPC, FMEA) and other quality tools to deliver performance improvement. This related to remarkable improvements in DPPM and OTD to Edwards Vacuum Production Sites in Europe.
As a leading member of the procurement department of Edwards Vacuum Czech Republic, he developed and implemented the casting commodity strategy to relocate suppliers from UK and Spain, to Czech, Poland & Hungary for site proximity with positive impact in casting spend and casting commodity DPPM. Annual site casting spend of €14.1m was reduced by €3.3m/23% and casting commodity DPPM levels decreased from 6,500 to 800. Dusan managed in total 100+ casting and billets transferred to new supplier foundries and supported their performance improvement & development.
Additionally, Dusan has successfully implemented ISO 9001 from the ground up in four companies, establishing quality management systems and supporting the certification process.
